EVENT | A/V Night and Images and Music

This year we are combining two favourites into one evening.

The first half of the evening is our traditional A/V Night:

Your chance to  offer the club an insight into your archive......set to music or other soundtrack.

Sequences should, ideally, be no longer than 5 minutes in duration.     Please be prepared to talk about how you put your sequence together so that others may learn from your experience.

After the break we continue with Images and Music:

Bring a set of images that is inspired by music.  There are 3 themes to enter and you can enter as many photos in any of the themes you like...

Theme 1   Take a Photo which is an alternative Album Cover for a Music Album. Whether Pop, Rock, Heavy Metal, Jazz, Country or Blues, albums often have dull, lacklustre covers and and I'm sure we could do better.  We'd like you to take a photo which illustrates the Album title. It's your own interpretation so you can be as creative, literal or humorous as you like.

Theme 2   Take a Photo which illustrates a Song Title, from  'Stairway to Heaven'  to  'My baby just cares for me'  there's a song title out there asking for a Photo.

Theme 3   An image which is an illustrates a line or two of song lyric e.g. In Penny Lane 'There is a barber showing photographs'

A few notes that might help...

  • There's no outside judge so no stress. You can reveal the Album, Song or Lyric you've interpreted or ask club members to guess on the night.
  • We're looking for your imagination, your interpretation and your creativity rather than technically perfect photos.
  •  You could delve into your snow photos and enter a photo of a snowy Ealing common as The Beatles - White Album but we'd prefer new photos taken especially for this fun evening.
  • As this is not a real competition you're allowed to enter any of your music themed photos into subsequent monthly competitions.
