We met them in lockdown for a Zoom competition and this year we have the opportunity to meet them face-to-face.
Planned to be a three-day event where EHHPS visits Cheltenham Camera Club, the idea is to set off on the Monday, perhaps taking photographs en route. On Monday evening we will be hosted by our very own John Clare, whom many of you will remember as having been a member of EHHPS before he moved.
Accommodation options:
John Clare lives near-ish (approx 7’ drive) from Winchcombe, CCC meets in Cheltenham itself and it’s about 25’ to drive from one to the other.
· Winchcombe – The White Hart (pub with rooms and apparently good breakfasts) comes recommended. https://whitehartwinchcombe.co.uk. Jacqui and Kristin have already bagged a couple of rooms each so please get in touch with one of us if this might be your preferred option.
· Cheltenham has everything from Travelodge/Premier Inn to 5* luxury. If you are looking to stay in Cheltenham then you might like to look at something nearby the Victory Club on Lypiatt Road (GL50 2SY)
On the Tuesday, we will go on a photography trip with members of Cheltenham Camera Club, at Gloucester Docks and Gloucester Cathedral. We will end up attending one of their Tuesday meeting nights (they normally meet on a Thursday like EHHPS) with a friendly competition between EHHPS and CCC and sharing some of the images taken earlier in the day.
On Wednesday, we’ll head back to Ealing, stopping for lunch and photographs en route as the whim takes us.
If you are interested in joining, please contact Kristin in the first instance. Depending on numbers, we will consider transport options; shared lifts, etc.
