NorthWest Fed Round A1: Results

Last night (November 2nd) was the first of our annual external competitions with Round 1 of the North West Fed against Pinner and Watford, hosted by Pinner and judged by Kevin Day. The evening was well attended with about 46 Zoomers. Seven members of EHHPS tuned in, including Mr Binks all the way from Canada.

The competition is usually comprised of 6 prints and 6 PDI’s but this year it’s obviously all PDI’s although they are still keeping the two categories.

First up was Prints where EHHPS had two notable scores

Keep Paddling by Sally Mason scored 19
The Bathers by Jacqui Sinnatt scored 20 and was awarded one of the two allotted stars

The results at this stage were incredibly close, with just a point between us all:

In the second half of PDI’s again we had two images to note

Arctic Fox by Karina Limburg scored 19
En Pointe In Pink by Dennis Durack scored 20

Watford came steaming through in the second half with three 20’s and both stars and the results for the PDIs were

Total scores for the evening then were

1st Place Watford 222
2nd EHHPS 217
3rd Pinner 210

Kevin’s judging was as usual fair and considered although he did seem to be having an issue with his images looking on the cool side, several times he said the image looked too blue and neither Rick Beresford or myself could agree with him on that; strange.
