2021 Ron Wake Trophy: Amanda Wright Reports

The 2021 Ron Wake was held on Zoom last night (Tuesday 14 September), with a slightly different format to the norm. Usually twenty images of the total are chosen by one judge and those twenty are judged by another judge at a later date who then picks his/her winner.

Six clubs took part: Watford, Pinner, XRR, Harrow (the hosts), EHHPS and Field End and 46 prints were entered.

Last night our judge was the much revered Chris Palmer (enter here every accolade you can think of), who gave a carefully considered and in my opinion accurate and fair critique of all the images, holding back 9 which each then received an award.

40 people came to watch but sadly the EHHPS support was noticeably lacking with just me and I think Aasem in attendance.

EHHPS did pretty well with two images of our 8 submissions held back:

She Comes In Colours Everywhere by Jacqui Sinnatt received a “Commended”

Downward Curve by Paul Mason was placed Third

- so very well done to you both.

The overall winner was a well deserved and thought provoking monochrome print called Loneliness by Omer Esit of Watford.
