Several members of EHHPS entered the XRR Visions competition individually, with three members also representing EHHPS as a team. The final takes place on Wednesday 21st November in Watford. Bill Cooper, Secretary XRR writes:
“We exceeded our target this year and a total of 113 entries were received before the closing deadline. The final will showcase all 339 images with the tie-break images judged live on the night. Please see the attached outline programme.
Our guest judge, Paul Radden LRPS DPAGB EFIAP/b PSA2*, has completed the pre-judging of two images from each entrant. Slide shows are being prepared to display the pre-judged images, along with the awarded scores and interim points totals. We look forward to Paul’s critique of the 113 tie-breaker images which will ultimately determine the winner of the VISIONS 2018 individual trophy. In addition, 16 clubs have nominated teams to compete for the VISIONS Club Trophy.
This year’s event will be in the Cedar/Sycamore halls on the ground floor of the Stanborough Centre, 609 St Albans Road, Watford, WD25 9JL. The Centre is on the A412, just 300m north of the A41 Dome roundabout (Asda/Sainsbury’s). There are 120 parking places on-site and ramps for disabled access.
Please note that the programme will start promptly at 7:45pm in order to accommodate the volume of entries. Doors will open at around 7.15pm.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided free of charge during the interval.”
External Competition Secretary Amanda Wright has passed on the results of the first round of the NW Fed competition , held at Chesham PC. Competing were Chesham PC, Northolt and District PS and EHHPS.

External Competition Secretary Amanda Wright has passed on the results of the first round of the Rosebowl competition, which took place on November 1st. Competing were Buckingham, Oxford, EHHPS and Croxley (who hosted). Only ten marks separated all four clubs but unfortunately on this occasion, EHHPS came fourth. The full result was:

Ealing Council runs a 'Seasons of Ealing' photographic competition. The current one, for Autumn 2018, closes on October 31st. More information here All images submitted must have been taken in the Borough of Ealing.
Ealing Council have also sponsored an exhibition by Ealing Wildlife Group (EWG), currently on display in Walpole Park until the end of November. More information here:

We have received the following from XRR regarding their Visions 2018 competition:
VISIONS is a unique projected image competition for individual members of PAGB affiliated clubs. Clubs can also compete for the club trophy by nominating three entrants to represent them (please note that the selection of images should be made by the individual entrants).
The closing date for entries is Wednesday, 24th October, and the final live judging for Visions will be on Wednesday, 21st November at the Stanborough Centre. Judging all entries this year will be Paul Radden LRPS DPAGB EFIAP PSA2* of the East Anglian Federation.
Running for over a decade, 1854 Media publisher of British Journal of Photography created BJP International Photography Award to find the best in contemporary photographic talent.
British Journal of Photography and the judging panel, comprised of key industry leaders, aim to award and promote a body of work that has a distinct narrative, and feature images from a compelling project on any topic. The chosen photographer will then be awarded with a solo show in the renowned contemporary art gallery TJ Boulting, based in Fitzrovia, London UK.

Following the excellent talk by Cliff Hide on copyright and other legal matters affecting photographers, and the fact that the London Tattoo Convention is on this weekend, here’s a really interesting piece about a question I have never considered:

Not just for dog lovers…the annual Chiswick House Dog Show is on tomorrow, Sunday Sept 23rd. This year it has a circus theme, and often provides great photo ops. From 11.00 to 1600.

The final event of a highly successful EHHPS Summer Season came to a fabulous and fitting conclusion with a BBQ in the sunshine superbly hosted by John Clare and Maxine, with the added bonus of the presentation of trophies to the winners of last season's monthly aggregate competitions.
