Rosebowl Day: Amanda Wright reports with Results and Videos
/Amanda Wright, whose image Faded Tulips received a Highly Commended award in the Phone Photography competition, reports on a Full Day at the Rosebowl:
As per Rosebowl Day usual the final competition was held on a glorious sunny day.
The morning kicked off early at 10.00am with the all new Phone Photography competition judged by Gordon Brown from Winchester with about 60 people in attendance.
Out of the 126 images entered 37 were critiqued, 15 held back with seven given Highly Commendeds. The overall winner in 1st place was Pelicans At Sunset by Martin Patten. Much like the Chilterns 100 only one image per photographer was permitted and the individual authors were responsible for choosing their image.
One of the seven images to receive Highly Commendeds was Faded Tulips by myself.

After a short break Gordon Brown went on to judge the Rosebowl Starred images. The overall standard in this event was unsurprisingly very high and several people remarked how pleased they were not to have to judge such a high standard competition.
There were 43 images in total, 12 were held back and four awarded Highly Commendeds.
The first place image was Nature’s Mercy by Jim Turner of Hemel Hempstead.
