A Photowalk Around St. Paul's and The Barbican: Rick Beresford Reports
/On the evening of July 1st, five club members, Amanda, Aasem, Andrey, Dennis and Rick, went on a photowalk around St. Paul's and The Barbican. Starting from St. Paul's station, the group walked to the shopping centre at 1, New Change. After taking a few architectural shots in and from the shopping centre, the group were amazed to find that the centre's roof terrace was open, despite clear indications on their website that it was closed. So, that was the next stop as this terrace provides excellent views of St. Paul's Cathedral and many other famous London landmarks such as the Shard and the London Eye. The light direction was not ideal but despite this, a good many photos were taken from here. After descending from the roof terrace, the party proceeded to take architectural and street photos as they walked up Wood Street towards The Barbican. The Barbican Centre itself then provided many further opportunities for street and architectural shots. The evening finished with a very pleasant meal on the terrace of The Bonfire restaurant overlooking the Barbican Water Gardens
